Winter BREAK is coming and it’s time for the Indiana Fashion Foundation Winter Sewing Camp
Join us for fashion, fun, and sewing! Perfect for Beginners and Youth (with some sewing experience interested in learning more).

4-Days (December 24, 27, 30, 31, 2019)
10am-3pm
Age:
The Winter Break Sewing Camp is offered for
Ages 7-16 – Girls & Boys.
All campers MUST be at least 7 years old to attend The Winter Break Sewing Camp – NO EXCEPTIONS.

The Price for the 4-Day Winter Break – Sewing Camp increases to $299 on Dec 15, 2019.
For those who pay for the Winter Break -Sewing Camp, within 24 hours you will receive details on the camp including location, Contact form and the waiver (located at the end of this page).
Campers will learn.
The camper will have the opportunity to learn the following:

How to make income next summer sewing

Sewing machine basics

Learn sewing techniques
-
Learn design process techniques

complete/start at least one project!

(The camper can pick between a pillow, poncho, or fleece blanket to make. (Based on the campers progress will determine additional projects.)

Be in a creative environment to learn a valuable skill.

Materials:The material fee is included in the price.
What to bring:
Nothing. Sewing machines are provided to use at the location. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Student is responsible for their belongings.
Location:
It’s a closed session so location information provided to those who register and pay.
(Location near 10th and Meridian)
Lunch:Campers MUST pack a sack lunch. Snacks and drinks will be provided each day. We do not allow kids to leave Camp to purchase food, nor can Camp Volunteers leave to purchase food for your child. Please come prepared. Lunch is promptly at Noon. Please do not include peanut food products. Please notify us in writing via sign-up form

ABOUT THE SEWING MENTOR
DENISHA-DLANG FERGUSON IS THE CREATOR AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF INDIANA FASHION FOUNDATION. DENISHA BEGAN HER CAREER IN FASHION AS A SEWIST IN HER EARLY TEENS. SHE TOOK APART CLOTHING TO LEARN HOW TO SEW AND FOUND SEWING MENTORS. AT THE AGE OF 15, SHE PRODUCED HER FIRST FASHION SHOW AS A WAY TO PROVIDE A PLATFORM FOR CREATORS TO SHOWCASE THEIR WORK. HER HEART FOR FASHION AND FOR PEOPLE HAS AIDED HER IN GARNERING OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERTISE IN RESEARCH, PROJECT MANAGEMENT, AND DESIGN WITHIN THE INDUSTRY. IT IS HER MISSION TO USE HER INFLUENCE AND RESOURCES TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITY FOR THOSE WHO ASPIRE TO EXCEL IN CREATIVE FIELDS.

WAIVER
By purchasing the class you acknowledge that you have read the below and agree to all of the terms.
I agree to release and hold harmless all employees, directors, executive director, instructors and/or volunteers of Indiana Fashion Foundation Corporation all claims or liability related to any accident that may arise as a result of my and/or my child’s participation in this program/camp. I understand that sewing includes the use of machines, needles, scissors and other tools. These activities include risks that can cause or lead to injury. I grant permission to operate machines and to use tools and equipment. I give permission for first aid and/or medical treatment to be given if the need arises.
PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE
I grant to Indiana Fashion Foundation, its representatives and employees the right to take photographs of me and/or my child in connection with sewing classes. I authorize Indiana Fashion Foundation its assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish without mention of my child’s name the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that Indiana Fashion Foundation may use such photographs of me/my child for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content, throughout the word, with no compensation for use.
REFUNDS & WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Space is limited. There are no refunds. All sales are FINAL! You can transfer this class only to another student (review age limit), but their parent/guardian must agree with the terms and participation. One to two makeup date will be presented each session for purposes of finishing a project. This session will serve as a make-up class for instructor illness or a cancelled session due to inclement weather. This make-up day is not for if the participant is out. The make-up days for the winter break sewing camp will be Dec 31, 2019 or Jan 3, 2020 (based on one or two days of inclement weather or if the instructor is sick during the scheduled class days.)
CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
Camp days are cancelled or have early dismissal due to inclement weather. Students/parents will be notified via email if the camp day(s) are cancelled. In addition, cancelled camp days will be posted on www.facebook.com/Indianafashionweek. Efforts will be made to make-up weather cancelled camp days, but are not guaranteed, if those camp days also have inclement weather. If there is inclement weather the make-up days for the winter break sewing camp will be Dec 31, 2019 or Jan 3, 2020.

BEHAVIOR
Parents/Guardians it is expected that you have a conversation with your youth regarding appropriate behavior and how to positively handle themselves during a lesson at the Indiana Fashion Foundation.
Indiana Fashion Foundation reserves the right to withdraw a student from lessons, for inappropriate behavior (not limited to the below) and improper use of the sewing machines/equipment.
Due to the nature of working with machinery, Indiana Fashion Foundation will not tolerate behavior deemed dangerous or harmful. Indiana Fashion Foundation will not tolerate bullying or behavior not appropriate to others in attendance and/or via online. Parent will be immediately contacted to come get the student.
Indiana Fashion Foundation reserves the right to terminate camp and no refund will be issued. Indiana Fashion Foundation reserves the right to NOT allow the youth to return to camp if parent/youth demonstrates improved behavior
The purpose is to create a safe creative space for youth to thrive creatively. Anything not positive, dangerous, and/or offensive will not be tolerated.
